19 January 25 - Toddler Takeover: Planning Parties for the Smallest Guests.

Balancing the needs of all ages at your event can be difficult and entertaining toddlers can be a challenging yet delightful and rewarding experience.

These 10 age-appropriate activities should keep your little ones engaged and happy, ensuring the day is fun for everyone.

  1. Sensory Play Station. Use a shallow box or bowl to create a sensory experience for your smaller guests. Add rice, coloured sand or playdough and different scoops and cutters to allow them to get involved and occupied.

  1. Toddler Musical Statues. All you need is some great music and then allow your little guests to dance to their heart’s content until you stop the music. The first person to move is out. Or provide simple musical instruments like boxes to bang with wooden spoons or play recorders and let them dance and make as much noise as they want!

  1. Story Time. If everyone is getting a little tired and overwrought, reading a lovely story with the guests gathered round you on the floor can be a quiet and calming activity. Choose short, colourful picture books and make sure you put on all the silly voices.

  1. Toy Car Racing. Use tape to mark out a racetrack on the floor and let your guests race each other with their cars.

  1. Ball Pool. Use a paddling pool and fill it with colourful balls. Or choose one of our Ball Pools for ease.

  1. Balloon Fun. Tie balloons to string and hang them up, allowing your little ones to reach them and bat them around.

  1. Toddler Yoga. Get everyone practising the Downward Dog, become a tree, or do the cat-dog. The sillier the names the better. You don’t have to be a yoga teacher yourself, just move and stretch and laugh.

  1. Colour Sorting Game. Provide lots of colourful items and encourage your little ones to group them together by colour, putting them in a box or container. Fun and educational.

  1. Hook a Duck. This classic fairground game is always a winner and kids love playing with water. You can create your own with a paddling pool, rubber ducks and mini fishing rods or take a look at our version here.

  1. Bubble Station. Kids love bubbles so set up an area where you have lots of bubble wands and solution. Adding a bubble machine too will increase the fun.

These ideas will keep your toddler guests occupied and make the event stress free to adults too.
